Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Best agility and mobility out of any tank in the game thanks to its amazing track traverse and acceleration
- Great traverse speed and acceleration
- Good "on-the-move"-accuracy, especially with a Vertical Stabilizer mounted
- Great camo value for its size and tier
- Selection between 2 guns that are great for a light tank, either prioritizing alpha damage and penetration or accuracy and rate of fire
- Excellent turret traverse which allows for easy and fast circling or switching between targets
- Sloped frontal armor can lead to the occasional lucky bounce
- Can pen many tier 10 tanks with the tier 9 100 mm 60-100T gun.
Cons:
- Prone to multiple module damage
- Modules are very XP-expensive, especially the 100 mm 60-100T which rivals the XP cost of tier 8 heavies' top guns
- Poor gun depression
- Worse hp/t than its predecessor
- Both 100mm guns weigh considerably more than the 85mm guns (~500kg more), which can make the tank noticeably slower
- Frequent damage to the ammo rack even through frontal hits
- Lacks an autoloader, which gives it significant trouble when dealing with other light tanks
Performance
A bit smaller, faster and stronger than its predecessor, the WZ-132 is one of the best light tanks ingame, combining firepower, agility and mobility. It is suitable for all kinds of combat roles including long range combat (good accuracy and aim time), brawl (small profile and agility) and both passive (great camo value and view range) and active scouting (great speed and traverse.)
Other than missing a drum loader, the WZ-132 has a few benefits to the AMX 13 90 in some ways as a combat vehicle. Compared to the AMX 13 90, It's able to make sharper turns without losing speed, a more accurate, slightly higher penetration and faster aiming gun, which is also more accurate when firing on the move. The tank also possess sloped frontal armor and turret, which can help generate the very occasional bounces. However, the AMX 13 90 has the aforementioned autoloader (burst damage, very important with hit and run tactics) and a smaller profile (better camo rating/harder to hit).
The WZ-132 has a great gun choice. You can either play with the more well-rounded 85 mm 64-85TG or the more damage-oriented 100 mm 60-100T. Should you select the former your tank will accelerate faster, be more accurate, and have a better rate of fire. Should you select the latter, your tank will accelerate slower and be heavier (though this can be good for ramming enemy light tanks) you will have more penetration, and have better alpha. The 85 mm gun lets you play more in the role of an agile and accurate supporting light tank. The 100 mm lets you perform like a speedy, but weak for its tier medium tank. Care should still be taken, however, as regardless of which gun you select, you are still a light tank, meaning you do not have much armor and little health.
Interestingly, the top 100 mm is actually better than the one on the Type 59.
A WZ-132 driver should avoid fighting AMX 13 90 in any sort of brawl because of the latter's feared drum loader. Assuming neither tanks miss, the AMX 13 90 will be able to destroy the WZ-132 in seconds. However,if the drive of the WZ-132 is skilled, it can outmaneuver an AMX 13 90 driver because it might not be able to turn its turret enough to keep up with the WZ-132.
Early Research
- You must research the new set of suspension in order to mount anything else.
- Once you have researched the new set of suspension, Research the new turret if you have researched the 100 mm 59-100T from the WZ-131, if you have not; research the 100 mm 59-100T and then the turret.
- If you want a faster reload, use the top 85mm gun until you have enough exp for the Tier 9 100 mm 60-100T.
- Now go for the Tier 9 100 mm 60-100T, as it will greatly ease the grind on the WZ-120.
- The last engine doesn't improve the engine power, instead it increases the module hit points by a considerable amount, which can be useful combined with a removed speed governor. It's recommended to research this module last.
